Donald Leslie Hillegas, Jr., 74, of Owensboro, died on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, TN. He was born on August 26,1944 to the late Donald Leslie Hillegas and Alice Diana Halstead Hillegas. He worked as a supervisor at H Fligeltaub Recycling Company. He was a member of Ayers Flying Club and enjoyed flying for 55 years. Donald also loved western movies and anything John Wayne. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Rodger Hillegas.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Deneda Faye Kirkman Hillegas; two sons, Byron Hillegas (fiancee Andrea Locher) of Owensboro and Jarrod Hillegas (Laurie) of Paducah; four grandchildren, Courtney Hillegas, Krysten Danley, Caleb Hillegas and Noah Hillegas; and four great-grandchildren, Johnathon, Roman, Naomi and Jonah.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in the Chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Bells Run Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
