Wilma Fay (Caudill) Helton

July 13, 1937 - January 19, 2022

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Wilma Fay (Caudill) Helton, age 84, Wednesday January 19, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.  Preceded in death by her husband Forester Helton, and only daughter Charlotte A. (Helton) Hatfield.

Wilma was born July 13, 1937 in Breathitt County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Price and Ola (Morris) Caudill.  She is survived by four of her children, Paul W. Helton (Vicki) of East Bernstadt, KY, Forester A. Helton (Thuy) of Richmond, KY, Dennis R. Helton of Lost Creek, KY and David L. Helton of Owensboro, KY, six siblings, George Caudill, Dorsey Caudill (Judy), Dennis Caudill (Vickie), Kenneth Caudill, Phyllis Boone (Johnny), and Gary Caudill (Sheree), eight grandchildren, Jesse Helton (Kim), Kevin Helton, Rachel Baker (Cheyanne), Billy Hatfield III (Katie), Laura Hodges (Stephen), Ethan Hatfield (Dennae), Ryan Helton and Nicholas Helton, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, husband and daughter, she is preceded in death by four siblings Orville Caudill, Paul Caudill, Juanita Hurley, and Pauline Hollan.

Wilma Helton was a thrifty and diligent woman who worked tirelessly to care for her family. She had an immense love of children, gardening, fishing, and a passion for rescuing birds. Wilma was an exceptional cook who loved and excelled at doing word searches. She was a wonderful person who will be deeply missed.

Services will be 12:00 pm Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow the services, at Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory.
