On Jan. 14, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office received information that 42-year-old Troy Robert Calvert of Philpot, a former Daviess County Sheriff’s deputy and an inmate at the Daviess County Detention Center, was making threats to harm or kill his ex-wife, as well as others, when he was released from incarceration.

In the course of the investigation, Major Thompson was supplied with copies of telephone conversations that Calvert participated in with other family members.

In reviewing those conversations, Major Thompson verified and overheard Calvert stating on several occasions that he would exact his revenge on his ex-wife, her attorney, and the presiding judge in his pending case.

Calvert was dismissed from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office in the past for his domestic violence actions. He has served several months in the detention center for violating court-ordered restrictions.

Daviess County Courts have previously issued Emergency Protection Orders (EPO), as well as Domestic Violence Orders (DVO) preventing him from contacting his ex-wife or going within 300 feet of her.

He is presently serving time for violating the DVO in excess of 30 times.
