“Yesterday in Sports” brings you the highlights from sports in Owensboro and Daviess County.
Whitesville Trinity volleyball won at home. Apollo and Whitesville Trinity competed in a four-team boys’ golf match at Ohio County.
Trinity Volleyball
The Lady Raiders beat McLean County at home 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-16). Trinity was led by Savannah Aull with 10 kills and seven assists and Nina Wathen with 11 assists and seven kills. Brittany Booker had four aces, Morgan Kinsey had four kills, and Mary Hardesty added three kills. The Lady Raiders play again Monday when they host Union County.
Trinity & Apollo Golf
Trinity finished in second place with a score of 194, followed closely by Apollo with a 197. Ohio County shot 155, while Hancock County finished at 201.
Scoring for Trinity were Blake McBrayer (47), Trenton Morris (48), Hunter O’Bryan (49) and Luke Payne (50).
Apollo’s scorers were Noah Stewart (42), Isaac Crabtree (45), Nathan Payne (53) and Aiden Watson (57).
