“Yesterday in Sports” brings you the highlights from sports in Owensboro and Daviess County.

BOYS SOCCER
Owensboro 2, Owensboro Catholic 0
The Red Devils (10-3-1, 3-3 District 9) used a pair of second-half goals to get a win over the Aces (5-9, 0-6). Andrew Saltsman scored the first goal off an assist from Joshua Head early in the half. Saltsman then set up the final goal for Fermin Mosqueda with 11 minutes to play. Radley Worth had two saves in goal.

The Red Devils travel to Hopkinsville Saturday to play in the Colonel Showcase, with games against Hopkinsville and Christian County. The Aces play in the All “A” Classic Saturday in Frankfort, starting with a 1 p.m. game against Oneida Baptist Institute.

GIRLS SOCCER
Madisonville-North Hopkins 5, Apollo 1
The E-Gals (5-7) fell at home to the Lady Maroons. No stats were available. Apollo will now travel to Christian County to play games against Logan County and Overton (Nashville, Tenn.) in the Colonels Showcase.

VOLLEYBALL
Apollo beats Meade County 3-0 (25-6, 25-9, 25-13)
The E-Gals (18-4) rolled to their fourth consecutive sweep at home.

Leading the way for Apollo were Natalie Ewing (14 kills, 2 blocks), Jenna McMillen (12 kills, 10 digs), Brylee Rhodes (6 aces, 2 blocks), Taylor Blair (4 kills, 2 blocks), Carlee Widmer (24 assists, 13 digs), Hallie Wilson (10 digs), Lindsey Hargitt (9 digs) and Anslee Hopewell (8 digs).

The E-Gals return to action Tuesday when they go across town to play Daviess County.

Trinity beats Butler County 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-13)
The Lady Raiders (18-3, 5-0 District 12) won their seventh consecutive game by taking gown Butler County. Trinity was led by Savannah Aull (16 assists, 9 kills), Nina Wathen (13 assists, 12 kills), Morgan Kinsey (4 kills) and Mary Hardesty (4 aces, 2 kills).

Trinity travels to Metcalfe County for the Metcalfe County Slam Jam Tournament Saturday. They are scheduled to play Brown, Sayre, Barren County and Clinton County.

Owensboro Catholic beats Breckinridge County 3-2 (29-31, 25-23, 23-25, 25-16, 15-13)
The Lady Aces (10-8) won their third match in a row with the home victory. No stats were available. OCHS will wrap up district play with a trip to Owensboro Tuesday.
