“Yesterday in Sports” brings you the highlights from sports in Owensboro and Daviess County.

GIRLS SOCCER
Christian County 5, Apollo 2
The E-Gals (6-10) lost on the road. Caitlyn Blandford scored both goals, with one assist each from Alyssa Lawrence and Brianna Troutman. Apollo wraps up the season with two road games next week. They play Meade County Monday and finish with Ohio County Thursday.

Daviess County 4, Oldham County 2
The Lady Panthers (7-4-2) got scores from four different players in their road win. Kenlee Newcom, Elizabeth Collier, Avery McNeily an Chloe Hinchcliffe each got a goal. Meredith Campbell had two assists, while Bobbi Sandifer and Newcom had one each.

Emma Patterson had three saves in goal. Daviess County plays their last game at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Bowling Green.

Elizabethtown 8, Owensboro 0
The Lady Devils (6-8-1) took a loss on the road. Owensboro has three remaining games, with Ohio County at home Monday, South Warren on the road Tuesday and Hopkins County Central at home Thursday.

Owensboro Catholic 1, Marshall County 0
The Lady Aces (10-3-1) picked up a win in the final away game. Emma Eyre scored the lone goal unassisted. Megan Goodwin had five saves in goal.

Owensboro Catholic finishes the season by hosting Greenwood Tuesday and Henderson County Thursday.

VOLLEYBALL
Apollo competes in JCIV Tournament
The E-Gals (19-9) lost in the championship game of the bronze division. Apollo beat Hopkinsville 2-0 (25-16, 25-15), and then beat Madison Central in the semifinals 2-1 (19-25, 25-18, 25-14). They lost to Frederick Douglass finals 2-1 (25-11, 18-25, 18-25).

Leading Apollo for the day were Carlee Widmer (51 assists, 18 kills, 6 aces), Natalie Ewing (28 kills), Jenna McMillen (17 kills, 21 digs), Taylor Blair (9 kills), Hallie Wilson (30 digs) and Anslee Hopewell (11 digs).

The E-Gals have two remaining home matches with Hancock County Tuesday and University Heights Thursday. They wrap up the season at the Toyota of Hopkinsville Western Kentucky Smack Down.

DCHS, OHS, OCHS play in Quad State Tournament
Daviess County, Owensboro and Owensboro Catholic were all competing in the Quad State Tournament over the weekend. Scores available from Saturday are: Hopkins County Central beats Owensboro 2-0 (25-20, 25-19); Owensboro Catholic beats Paducah Tilghman 2-1 (18-25, 25-8, 15-9).

No stats were available. All teams wrap up the season this week.
