Volleyball teams compete in tournaments

Apollo competes in JCIV Tournament
The E-Gals lost a pair of matches in the first day of the JCIV Tournament. Apollo lost 2-0 (28-26, 26-16) to Collins, and they also fell 2-1 (25-20, 23-25, 27-25) to Highlands. They’ll play three matches today.

Leading the way for the E-Gals Friday were Carlee Widmer (28 assists, 9 kills, 4 aces), Brylee Rhodes (5 aces, 3 kills), Natalie Ewing (18 kills, 5 blocks), Jenna McMillen (11 kills, 27 digs), Hallie Wilson (23 digs) and Anslee Hopewell (13 digs).

OCHS, OHS, DCHS compete in Quad State Tournament
Owensboro Catholic won both of their matches Friday in the Quad State tournament. They beat Marshall County 2-0 (25-8, 25-3) and took down Bartlett (Tenn.) 2-1 (25-20, 20-25, 17-15).

Owensboro and Daviess County each lost a match. The Lady Devils lost 2-0 (25-17, 25-17) to Madisonville-North Hopkins, while the Lady Panthers lost 2-0 (25-17, 25-18) to Oldham County.

No stats were available. The tournament continues today.
