AHS, DCHS, OHS soccer teams lose final games

“Yesterday in Sports” brings you the highlights from sports in Owensboro and Daviess County.

Teams in action:
Girls soccer — Apollo; Daviess County; Owensboro

Ohio County 3, Apollo 0
The E-Gals (6-11-1) lost their final game of the year on the road. They’ll now turn their attention to the District 9 tournament, where the play Owensboro Catholic at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Apollo is the host of the tournament. OCHS won both contests this year.

Bowling Green 5, Daviess County 1
The Lady Panthers (7-5-2) wrapped up the season with a loss on the road. The lone goal came from Kenlee Newcom with an assist from Chloe Hinchcliffe. Emma Patterson had four saves in goal.

DCHS will play at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday against Owensboro in the first round of the District 9 Tournament, played at Apollo. The Lady Panthers won both meetings this year.

Hopkins County Central 2, Owensboro 1
The Lady Devils (6-11-1) ended the season with a narrow loss at home. Evie Pierson scored the only goal on an assist from Alexis Westerfield. Natalie Lamar had two saves in goal.

OHS will play at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday against Daviess County in the first round of the District 9 Tournament, played at Apollo. The Lady Panthers won both meetings this year.
