Football teams wrap up regular season

A final crosstown matchup highlights the last week of the regular season for local football teams, as Daviess County plays host to Apollo. Owensboro Catholic stays home to play an undefeated South Warren squad, while Owensboro hits the road to take on Henderson County.

With the postseason schedule already set, teams will use tonight as a final tune-up and measuring stick to see where they stand heading into playoffs. Apollo, Daviess County and Owensboro are all coming off dominant victories, while Owensboro Catholic returns from a bye week.

Apollo (5-4, 1-3 District 1 Class 5A) @ Daviess County (5-4, 2-2 District 1 Class 6A)
Last year’s meeting: Daviess County won 26-7

What’s at stake: Both teams are looking for a second consecutive win as they head into the postseason.
