It was a one-sided game from the start as the Owensboro football team totally dominated Marshall County 50-7 on the road.

Monte Owsley got things rolling for the Red Devils (5-2, 2-0 District 1 Class 5A) with a 65-yard punt return four minutes into the game. A shanked Marshals’ punt left an open field for Oswely to run free after he beat a single defender.

From there, the Marshals couldn’t stop a potent OHS attack. Quarterback Will Warren started his busy night with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Trevon Tinsley midway through the quarter. The two connected again about two minutes later, this time for a 34-yard score.

The Red Devils scored one more time in the opening quarter when Warren hit Tre Green for a 34-yard score. OHS quickly found the endzone again to start the second on a 49-yard pass from Warren to Owsley. Green caught a pass for the 2-point conversion.

Two minutes later, Austin Gough returned an interception 45 yards to give Owensboro a 43-0 lead to start a running clock.

One final touchdown came on a pass from Gavin Wimsatt to Kobe Skortz early in the third quarter. The lone touchdown for Marshall County came with 5 minutes to play on a quarterback keeper.

The Red Devils now take on crosstown rival Apollo (4-3, 0-2), who’s lost three consecutive games. The teams will meet at 7 p.m. Friday at Owensboro.
