Owensboro Pickleball Association raises funds for Boys and Girls Club

According to their website, Owensboro Pickleball Association, Inc. was founded in September 2017, and the founder and a five-member board of directors have been actively planning for age division tournaments and eventually age and level division tournaments.
The Owensboro Pickleball Association had 8 divisions in the Cliff Hagan Boys and Girls Club “Sizzling September” Pickleball Tournament held Sept. 29.
The tournament raised $3,386 in proceeds for the Cliff Hagan Boys and Girls Club.

The next tournament, Zero Zero Fresh Start for Women fundraiser Pickleball Tournament is Friday, Nov. 9 at the Owensboro Christian Church Recreation Center.
According to Rene’ Kuegel, Executive Director of OPA, a sanctioned tournament is scheduled at the Owensboro Convention Center in February 2019, and other events are being scheduled throughout the year that will involve all, not just pickleball players.
