Panthers near top at Fast Cats Classic

The Kentucky Wesleyan College cross country teams finished near the front of the pack Saturday as hosts of the 9th Annual Fast Cats Classic at Yellow Creek Park. The men posted a fourth-place finish, while the women came in sixth.

Chase Bland and Patrick Quire both placed in the top 20 in the men’s 8K. Bland (27:42) finished 12th and Quire (28:01) earned 17th place. Hunter Kurz (28:20) wasn’t far behind, finishing 22nd. The final scoring runners were George Marsch (29:06) in 38th and Bronzon Yator (29:16) in 43rd.

On the women’s side, two Panthers placed in the top 30. Sidney Reagor (20:43) was the top finisher, placing 22nd. Other scoring runners were Erin Wilson (20:50, 26th), Sydney Goff (20:57, 31st), Leslie Burns (21:18, 38th) and Angelique Laizure (23:26,88th).

The Panthers return to action Saturday when they head to Rome, Ga., for the Berry Invitational.
