The Region 3 teams were announced Monday and featured several players from District 9 teams. Owensboro Catholic’s Lily Moore was named Region 3 Player of the Year.
Moore finished the season with a team-high 31 goals and tied for the lead with 11 assists. She led the Lady Aces to a Region 3 title and scored the winning goal in the final minute of the championship.
Three of Moore’s teammates were named to the First Team, including goalkeeper Megan Goodwin, who recorded five shutouts in 21 games. Three Lady Aces were named to the Second Team, and one earned Honorable Mention.
Kenlee Newcom (21 goals, 5 assists) led the voting for Daviess County, who also had four members on the First Team. The Lady Panthers also had three players named to the second team, including keeper Gracie Kemplin, and they had three girls earn Honorable Mention.
Apollo’s Shelby Taylor (23 goals, 15 assists) made the First Team, and the E-Gals had four players make Honorable Mention, including keeper Zoe Floyd.
Owensboro’s Macey Cundiff (7 goals, 6 assists) was named to the Second Team, and teammate Alexis Westerfield made Honorable Mention.
