The Aces (7-10) closed out the season with a dominant win at home. OCHS got goals from Joe Fusco (2), Jack Bach (2), Cole Blandford, Kevin Piedrahita and Matthew Murphy. Assists came from Caleb Ranallo (3), Joe Fusco and John William Wiman. Boone McElroy had three saves.
The Aces will play in the first round of the District 9 tournament at 5:30 p.m. Monday. They face Daviess County, and the tournament is hosted by Owensboro.
VOLLEYBALL
Apollo, Owensboro Catholic compete in tournament
The E-Gals (25-7) are playing in the Toyota of Hopkinsville Tournament this weekend. They beat Christian County 2-0 (25-17, 25-18) and Ballard Memorial 2-0 (25-15, 25-13) on Friday. They play Crittenden County this morning to finish pool play, and bracket play begins at 12:15 p.m.
Leading the way Friday were Carlee Widmer (8 kills, 20 assists, 9 aces), Jenna McMillen (16 kills) and Havannah John (4 kills).
Owensboro Catholic is also competing in the tournament. They lost 2-1 (25-27, 25-21, 25-21) to Southwestern. No stats were available.
