The Trinity volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-7, 25-14) victory over Butler County Monday in the opening round of the District 12 Tournament. The Lady Raiders (22-7) advanced to the championship round with the win.

Head coach Adam Huff said the team competed with a high effort, and he expects that same attitude in the next match.

“I thought we came out focused like a team trying to win a district championship,” he said. “I feel like we will bring this effort again tomorrow night, and we will be very competitive in the championship.”

Trinity will play Grayson County today for the tournament title. Both teams automatically advance to the Region 3 Tournament, scheduled to be played in Muhlenberg County next week.

Leading the way for the Lady Raiders Monday were Savannah Aull (10 kills), Nina Wathen (12 assists, 4 kills), Morgan Kinsey (4 kills), Cassidy Morris (3 blocks) and Avery Barnett (3 aces).
