Owensboro High School has named head coaches for both the boys’ and girls’ track and field teams. Drew Hall has been selected to lead the boys’ team, and Marcie Baldwin will lead the girls’ team, each beginning with the 2018-19 season.

Hall has been a part of OHS athletics for much of his life. A graduate of OHS, Hall competed in football, track and baseball in high school and has served as an assistant coach with the football and track programs for the past 10 years.

“I’m excited to continue working with kids and watching them compete,” he said. “Watching a kid grow and improve from a freshman to a senior says a lot about that athlete. I’m just happy I can be a part of that.”

Baldwin, a second-year science teacher at OHS, is no stranger to leading a program. She began her career as a volunteer coach at Scott County High School in Kentucky and has been at the helm of boys’ and girls’ programs at both Dawson Springs High School and Estill County High School.

“I am passionate about track and field because it is both an individual and a team sport,” said Baldwin. “I love working with athletes and watching their determination and growth throughout their career.”

Both coaches will take the reins immediately and will lead their teams into the upcoming season.

“We are excited about the future of both of our track and field programs,” said athletic director Todd Harper. “We have a rich tradition of success in track and field, and our programs are in good hands with Drew and Marcie.”
