The Kentucky Wesleyan College women’s team won their eight game in a row by taking down Ohio Dominican University, while the men fell short in the conference doubleheader on the road.

The women cruised to a 75-44 victory behind 20 points from Keelie Lamb, and the Panthers (12-3, 8-1 G-MAC) beat ODU for the first time in three meetings. In the men’s game, Kentucky Wesleyan (6-8, 4-4 G-MAC) a narrow halftime lead wasn’t enough in their 66-58 loss.

WOMEN
The Panthers opened the game with a 15-2 run, including back-to-back 3-pointers from Emma Johnson. Wesleyan added to their lead to 34-18 by halftime, and they maintained at least a 15-point lead throughout the final 20 minutes of action.

Lamb capped off a 12-0 run for Wesleyan to take a 27-point lead with just over five minutes remaining. Lamb led the offense with 20 points, reaching double figures for the ninth time this season. Johnson added 18 points, and Jenna Martin had 11 points. Kaylee Clifford grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

Dominican bounced back and with 7 minutes left they took a 25-20 lead, their biggest of the opening frame. Wesleyan responded with a few easy buckets to take a 34-33 halftime lead.

After the Panthers went up 44-41, ODU took control to earn a 14-point advantage with 4 minutes to play.
