“Yesterday in Sports” brings you the highlights from sports in Owensboro and Daviess County.

Girls’ basketball: Apollo, Daviess County (story here), Owensboro

Apollo 68, Butler County 21
Amber Dunn hit four 3-pointers and scored 20 points to lead the E-Gals (10-7) to a dominant road win over the Lady Bears (2-13).

Nine players scored, and Apollo had 18 assists on 25 made baskets to go along with 12 steals.

After a 23-8 first quarter, Apollo allowed 6 points or less in each of the final three quarters.

The E-Gals play again Saturday at 7 p.m. against Bowling Green.

The Lady Devils (6-9) fell behind early and could never recover in a road game against the Lady Cougars (9-5).

Tayonna Greer hit a pair of 3-pointers and lead the team with 11 points. Amaya Curry added 10 points.

Owensboro plays again Saturday with a road trip to University Heights for a 2:30 p.m. game.
