LADY DEVILS WIN SECOND STRAIGHT
Owensboro started slow but picked up steam near halftime, eventually coming away with a 5-2 road victory over Muhlenberg County.

The Lady Devils (2-2) were down 1-0 early before Evie Pierson equalized off an assist by Rylee Cox with 7 minutes left in the half. Sydney Ladd capped off the first half with a goal to give the Lady Devils a 2-1 lead at the break.

Cox added a pair of goals herself and Ella Bratcher scored on a penalty kick to put Owensboro up comfortably. Freshman goalkeeper Chandler Worth recorded eight saves. The Lady Devils return to action Monday at 7 p.m. in a match at Owensboro Catholic.

LADY ACES SHUT OUT AT HOME
Owensboro Catholic fell behind early in the first half and couldn’t capitalize on a handful of chances, falling 3-0 at home to Castle (Ind.) in the first loss of the season.

The Lady Aces (1-1-1) finished with seven shots on goal. Keeper Megan Goodwin had 13 saves. Catholic plays again Tuesday in a 7 p.m. home game against Owensboro.
