SATURDAY’S ACTION:
HIGH SCHOOL
• Apollo boys dominate in Boonville; AHS girls also compete
• DC girls 3rd, boys 4th at Tiger Run; OCHS boys also compete
• Trinity runners in action at Madisonville

MIDDLE SCHOOL
• DCMS 1st in four events; BMS, OMS, HCS, St. Mary with top-10 finishers



HIGH SCHOOL
APOLLO BOYS DOMINATE IN BOONVILLE; AHS GIRLS ALSO COMPETE

The Apollo boys’ team easily claimed first place in the Boonville Invitational in Indiana, as the top five runners runners all finished in the top 11 scoring positions. The girls’ team finished eighth in their competition.

Blake Rigdon (17:36.4) and Thomas Ashby (17:37.9) took third and fourth place for the Eagles. Nicholas Szymethy (7th, 18:00.4), Jake Alvey (9th, 18:09.5) and Ethan Dych (11th, 18:14.0) rounded out the scoring runners.

The E-Gals’ top runner was Baylee Hare (21st, 23:39). The next four were Angel King (29th, 24:11), Abby Rumage (34th, 25:03), Madalyn Hyland (48th, 26:09) and Ahmira Pickett (50th, 26:28).


DC GIRLS 3RD, BOYS 4TH AT TIGER RUN; OCHS BOYS ALSO COMPETE
The Daviess County girls finished third and the boys took fourth as each had a runner in the top 10 individually in the Tiger Run hosted by Saint X in Louisville. Three boys from Owensboro Catholic were also in action.

For the DC girls, Ainsley Taylor (20:05.57) finished eighth to lead the way. Also scoring points were Emily Rempe (11th, 20:12.00), Emily Ann Roberts (23rd, 20:39.60), Destiny Miles (38th, 21:12.74) and Elli Crabtree (45th, 21:25.71).

For the boys, Brady Terry (16:09.65) finished fifth to lead the Panthers. Other scoring runners were Alex Adams (14th, 16:36.73), Justin Shelton (31st, 17:04.03), Bryson McGary (53rd, 17:27.22) and Caleb Tidwell (54th, 17:29.06).

Three Owensboro Catholic boys ran as individuals, and John Cason (16:58.90) finished 32nd overall. Jude Neal (19:57.96) and Ty Gatton (20:07.82) also competed.


TRINITY RUNNERS IN ACTION AT MADISONVILLE
Three boys and one girl from Trinity competed in the Madisonville Maroon Classic. Natalie Rhinerson finished in 32:33.45 in the girls’ race.

The boys’ runners were Gavin Howard (20:59.60), Kristopher Howard (28:20.77) and Nicholas Ward (28:24.85).



MIDDLE SCHOOL
DCMS 1ST IN FOUR EVENTS; BMS, OMS, HCS, ST. MARY WITH TOP-10 FINISHERS
Daviess County Middle school took first place in all four divisions, and several other local schools had top 10 finishers in the Madisonville Classic.

Burns and Owensboro middle schools, as well as Heritage Christian and St. Mary of the Woods, also competed in the event featuring more than 800 individuals.

DCMS won the boys’ and girls’ 5th grade and under divisions along with both the boys’ and girls’ middle school divisions. The Burns girls’ team placed runner up in the middle school race.
