GIRLS
E-GALS’ BROWN 2ND, DC TEAM RUNNER-UP AT APOLLO INVITATIONAL
Sophomore E-Gals’ golfer Macey Brown took second place individually after a two-person playoff, and the Daviess County team finished as runner-up in the Apollo Invitational at Ben Hawes.

Brown tied Union County’s Sarah Hagedorn with an 80, both shooting 41 on the front nine holes and 39 on the back. They each parred the first two playoff holes, and Hagedorn earned medalist honors after Brown bogeyed hole No. 3.

Owensboro Catholic’s Abby Bahnick was awarded third and Daviess County’s Holly Holton took fourth. They both shot 83, but Bahnick won a scorecard playoff.

As a team, the Lady Panthers shot 369 and were beaten by first-place Barren County’s 359. Henderson County (373) finished third, and Apollo (375) was a close fourth.

Other scoring rounds for DC came from Addison Heady (91), Emilee Clark (93) and Hadleigh Hunter (102).

Apollo also got scores from Brooke Brown (88), Mary Ann Lyons (94) and Addison Carter (113).

Catholic did not field a complete team but got an 86 from Emma Payne.


BOYS
LOVE HELPS LEAD PANTHERS TO 2ND IN TOURNAMENT
Daniel Love shot 68 to finish second individually and guide Daviess County to a runner-up finish in the Glasgow Invitational. The Panthers posted a 292, just three shots behind winner Bowling Green.

Brady Huckleberry finished fourth overall with a 70, while Nick Johnson and Braden Whistle each shot 77 to round out the scoring for DC.
