Though Owensboro stayed fairly close in each set, the Apollo volleyball team was able to earn a 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-20) sweep on the road in Tuesday’s 9th District match.
Apollo (14-7, 3-2) was led by Natalie Ewing (12 kills), Brylee Rhodes (7 kills), Whitley Chambers (4 kills), Tallie Satterfield (19 assists, 4 kills) and Anslee Hopwell (17 service points, 4 aces).
Owensboro (9-16, 0-5) was led by Armanda Pappas (9 digs, 5 kills, 2 aces), Brooklyn Williams (7 kills, 5 digs), Jersie Rhineburger (15 digs), Krystell Pappas (14 assists, 4 digs, 2 kills, 2 aces) and Lainey Hayden (5 kills, 2 blocks).
The E-gals will next play in the JCIV Tournament this weekend. The Lady Devils will be in the Quad State Tournament.
