Lady Aces take fourth in weekend tournament

The Owensboro Catholic volleyball team took fourth place in the Gold Division of the Quad State tournament in Paducah over the weekend. They went 4-2 in the tournament.

Catholic’s wins came against Calloway County 25-12, 25-16; University Heights 25-18, 25-22; Germantown, (Tenn.) 25-13, 25-21; and Piggott, (Ark.) 27-25, 25-20.

Losses came against McCracken County 25-11, 25-18 and Lexington Lafayette 25-18, 25-19.

Leading the effort for the Lady Aces was Cecilia Clemens (132 assists, 17 kills, 11 blocks, 9 digs, 6 aces),  Jenna Glenn (43 digs, 8 aces), Belle Wright (40 kills, 7 blocks, 3 aces), Cassidy Towery (32 kills, 7 blocks, 3 aces) and Madeline Castlen (29 kills, 16 blocks, 2 digs).

Also contributing were Cate Sites (17 kills, 12 blocks), Allie Hamilton (12 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks, 2 digs), Jayden Bickett (16 digs) and Shelby Durham (5 digs).

The Lady Aces play again Tuesday when they host Owensboro in the final 9th District matchup for either team.
