Trinity to host event featuring former UK star Delk

Trinity High School is hosting a “Dinner at Our House” later this month featuring guest speaker Tony Delk, a former University of Kentucky basketball star and 10-year NBA veteran.

Basic tickets ($50) include dinner and the program, while VIP tickets ($75) will also include access to a meet and greet with Delk.

The event will be held Nov. 30 at the Horn Community Center in Whitesville. The VIP meet and greet begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Sponsorships are also available starting at $400 for a table of eight. A VIP table sponsor is $500 and includes eight tickets to the meet and greet. Other sponsorship opportunities are available.

ABOUT TONY DELK
As a senior in the 1995-96 season, Delk led UK to a national championship and was named the  NCAA Basketball Tournament Most Outstanding Player. He was also named to the All-American and All-SEC 1st Teams in addition to receiving SEC Player of the Year honors.

In his junior season, Delk was named to the All-SEC 1st Team and All-NCAA Regional Team. As a sophomore, he was voted All-SEC 2nd Team by the coaches and All-SEC 3rd Team by the Associated Press, while also making the All-SEC Tournament Team.

Delk was picked 16th overall 1996 NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets and was a journeyman during his 10-year stint in the league.

He served as an assistant coach at UK from 2009-11, and he was then an assistant at New Mexico State from 2011-13.

Delk is the president of the Taylor Delk Sickle Cell Foundation. The foundation is named after his daughter, who has sickle-cell disease.
