MCKAY LEADS LADY ACES TO PAIR OF WINS
Hannah McKay finished the day with 41 points and 18 rebounds — going 16-for-22 from the floor and 9-for-10 from the free throw line — to lead Owensboro Catholic (8-4) to a pair of wins in the FNB Holiday Bash at South Warren.

The Lady Aces snapped a three-game skid by edging Union City (Tenn.) 38-35 in their first game of the day, and they overcame an early deficit to run away with a 69-50 victory over Newport Central Catholic in the second contest.

In game one’s low-scoring affair, the Lady Aces took a 12-7 lead after the first quarter then held on the rest of the way. McKay finished with a game-high 17 points. Also scoring for Catholic were Camille Conkright (9), Caroline Reid (4), Catherine Head (4), Spencer Harvey (2) and Tierney Johnson (2).

In game two, the Lady Aces fell behind by five after the first period by took a 29-26 lead at the half. A 14-12 fourth quarter put the game away with ease. McKay posted 26 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, while Harvey added 14 points and Conkright had 12. Also contributing were Katie Riney (7), Caroline Reid (7), Lauren Keelin (2) and Ally Maggard (1).


LADY DEVILS SPLIT GAMES, SNAP LOSING STREAK
After suffering their sixth loss in a row to start the day, Owensboro (3-7) bounced back and picked up a narrow victory to split their games on day one of the Murray Bank Lady Tiger Classic.

The Lady Devils struggled in the first game, as Butler ran away with a 61-24 victory that was never in doubt. In game two, OHS took an early lead and did just enough to hang on for a 37-35 win over Hickman County.

Against Butler, Tamia Smith led the Lady Devils with 11 points. Also scoring were Lyric Lawrence (4), Nia Gonzo (4), Lindsey Gibson (2), Kaylyn Sowders (2) and A’Lyrica Hughes (1).

Against Hickman County, Smith and Hughes each scored eight points to lead OHS. Also contributing were Gonzo (7), Brooklyn Williams (4), Lawrence (4), Chandler Worth (3), Gibson (2) and Krystell Pappas (1).
