E-GALS USE TEAM EFFORT TO FEND OFF MEADE COUNTY
Apollo (8-4) built a double-digit lead during the third quarter, but they had to withstand a late push to hold on for a 63-60 home victory over Meade County on Saturday.
Amber Dunn finished with a double-double, scoring 12 points and added 14 rebounds. Addison Carter scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed nine boards.
Other leading contributors were Zoe Floyd (11 points, 5 rebounds), Amari Sanders (9 points, 7 rebounds) and Kassidy Daugherty (12 points, 3 assists). Also scoring were Shelbie Beatty (3) and Amaya Curry (2).
RED DEVILS FALL TO UNDEFEATED ELIZABETHTOWN
Owensboro (9-6) got off to a hot start and only trailed by two at the half, but undefeated Elizabethtown pulled away late for an 81-68 victory. The Red Devils scored 24 points in the first quarter and faced a 41-39 deficit heading into the third quarter.
Jaiden Greathouse finished with a team-high 23 points, scoring eight in the first quarter and 10 in the fourth. Tucker Hagan added 11 points, while Amari Wales scored all 10 of his points in the first period.
Other scoring for OHS came from Kenyata Carbon (8), Isaac Humphrey (6), Matt Brown (4), Reis Dickinson (4) and Imonte Owsley (2).
