MONDAY’S ACTION:
• Strong 3rd quarter lifts Aces to win
• Dunn, E-Gals power past Grayson County
• Lady Panthers fall short on road


STRONG 3RD QUARTER LIFTS ACES TO WIN
Owensboro Catholic (12-6) turned the game around with a dominant third quarter, eventually beating Butler County 66-56 at home. The Aces trailed by three at the half but held a 47-37 advantage heading into the final period.

Catholic’s strong second half was led by Brian Griffith, who scored all 15 of his points after the break. He went 7-for-8 at the free throw line, including 5-for-6 in the fourth quarter to help the Aces maintain their distance down the stretch.

Drew Hartz also finished with 15 points, while Ji Webb added 14 and Gray Weaver had 10. Also scoring were Andrew Riney (8), Sam McFarland (3) and Luke Scales (1).


DUNN, E-GALS POWER PAST GRAYSON COUNTY
Amber Dunn posted another double-double and Apollo (12-5) shut out Grayson County in the second quarter as the E-Gals rolled to a 61-43 home win. Tied at 20-all after the first period, Apollo locked down on defense and took a 32-20 lead into halftime.

Dunn scored 10 points in the first quarter and finished with 19 total, going 6-for-9 from the field and 6-for-8 at the line. She added 12 rebounds, three steals and three assists.

Also reaching double figures for Apollo were Kassidy Daugherty (15), Zoe Floyd (12) and Amaya Curry (11). Curry added seven assists and six rebounds, while Floyd pulled down six boards. Shelbie Beatty and Kennedy Rowan each had two points.


LADY PANTHERS FALL SHORT ON ROAD
Daviess County (7-11) stayed close through two quarters, but Muhlenberg County pulled away in the second half for a 62-41 win at home. The Lady Panthers only trailed by four at halftime, but the Lady Mustangs carried a 46-32 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Adylan Ayer led DC with 14 points, Brooklyn Daugherty had nine and Katie Mewes added eight. Also scoring were Emma Anderson (5), CJ Paige (3), Ella Payne (1) and Madison Spurrier (1).
