TUESDAY’S ACTION:
• Aces edge Christian County at home
• Red Devils come up short at home
• Panthers fall behind early in loss
• Strong finish not enough for Raiders
• Lady Aces fall to Lady Mustangs
• Slow start plagues Lady Raiders


ACES EDGE CHRISTIAN COUNTY AT HOME
Owensboro Catholic (14-7) got 17 points from Ji Webb and 10 from Brian Griffith as they had just enough to get past Christian County for a 45-42 home victory. The Aces led by two at the half, but Webb scored nine of their 11 third-quarter points to stretch the lead to 34-28.

Andrew Riney and Drew Hartz each scored six points, while Gray Weaver and Luke Scales added three each.


RED DEVILS COME UP SHORT AT HOME
Gavin Wimsatt scored 23 points, but Owensboro (13-8) didn’t quite have enough in an 82-69 home loss to No. 5 Madisonville-North Hopkins. The Red Devils only trailed by two after the first quarter, but a late run push the Maroon’s lead to 43-32 at the half.

OHS made a few pushes in the second half, though Madisonville was able to pull away each time and hold to win their eighth game in a row.

Amari Wales added 14 points for OHS, while Kenyata Carbon and Jaiden Greathouse scored 11 points each. Cayman Powell finished with eight points and Ethan Pendleton had two.


PANTHERS FALL BEHIND EARLY IN LOSS
Daviess County (6-14) fell behind early and wasn’t able to recover, taking a 57-41 loss at home against Henderson County. The Panthers trailed by seven after the first quarter and 11 at the half. DC only got to the free throw line twice and hit one attempt, while the Colonels went 12-for-16.

Camron Johnson led the Panthers with 14 points. Other scorers were Logan Hillard (7), Ryan Thomson (5), Joe Humphreys (4), Hunter Gibson (4), Will Barron (3), Cole Burch (2) and Decker Renfrow (2).


STRONG FINISH NOT ENOUGH FOR RAIDERS
Trinity (6-17) scored 23 points in the fourth quarter, but Meade County scored 26 of their own to preserve their lead and come away with a 72-60 win on the road. The Raiders fell behind 21-10 after the first quarter and was never really able to gain any ground.

Both teams spent much of the night at the free throw line, and each struggled to know down those shots. Trinity went 16-for-26, while Meade County went 25-43.

Ethan Howard led Trinity with 15 points and Landon Huff scored 12. Other contributions came from Denver Dickens (8), Landon Hall (7), Brenden Wathen (6), Nathan Hernandez (6), Kevin Foster (3) and Will Edge (3).


LADY ACES FALL TO LADY MUSTANGS
It was a tight game the entire way, buy Muhlenberg County had just enough in the final stretch to beat Owensboro Catholic 52-46 at the Sportscenter. The Lady Aces led by three points after the first quarter and one at the half, but they trailed by a point going into the fourth quarter.

Catholic’s Hannah McKay led all scorers with 27 points. Other scoring for the Lady Aces came from Catherine Head (5), Ally Maggard (4), Spencer Harvey (4), Katie Riney (2), Caroline Reid (2), Isabella Henning (1) and Camille Conkright (1).


SLOW START PLAGUES LADY RAIDERS
Trinity (8-12) only scored three points in the first period, and they were unable to overcome the deficit in a 56-44 loss at home to McLean County. The Lady Cougars built up a 14-point lead after the first quarter and largely kept the advantage near that margin.

Cassidy Morris led all scorers with 24 points, going 14-for-16 at the free throw line. Also scoring for the Lady Raiders were Josie Aull (8), Morgan Kinsey (6), Katherine Hibbitt (4) and Allie Graham (2).
