MONDAY’S ACTION:
• E-Gals hold on late to top Greenwood
• Henderson County takes down Lady Aces
• Aces edged in overtime
• Panthers fall short at home
• Raiders struggle in home loss


E-GALS HOLD ON LATE TO TOP GREENWOOD
Apollo (20-7) used a hot start to build and early lead, then they were able to hold off a late push by Greenwood for a 58-50 victory at home.

Amber Dunn scored 12 of her 17 points in the first quarter as the E-Gals raced out to a 22-16 advantage. Amaya Curry scored seven in the second period to stretch Apollo’s lead to 34-25 by halftime.

Greenwood cut their deficit to 53-50 by the end of the third quarter, but the E-Gals relied on Kassidy Daugherty in the fourth — where she went 6-for-9 at the free throw line — to stay on top.

Dunn finished with another double-double by grabbing 13 rebounds. Curry finished with 14 points, seven assists, six boards and four steals. Daugherty added 12 points and eight rebounds, Zoe Floyd had eight points and five rebounds, and Addison Carter scored three points and grabbed seven rebounds. Amari Sanders and Brylee Rhodes each had two points and three boards.


HENDERSON COUNTY TAKES DOWN LADY ACES
Owensboro Catholic took an early lead, but they couldn’t keep up in the second half as Henderson County pulled away for a 62-42 victory. The Lady Aces led by two after the first quarter but trailed by three at the half, and the deficit grew to 13 by the end of the third.

Hannah McKay led all scorers with 17 points and added eight rebounds, while Isabella Henning and Catherine Head both added all six of their points in the second half. Also scoring were Spencer Harvey (5), Kinsley Goetz (4), Randchelle Johnson (2) and Ally Maggard (2).


ACES EDGED IN OVERTIME
Owensboro Catholic (17-11) led by eight at halftime, but they couldn’t hold off University Heights and eventually lost 75-73 on a last-second shot in overtime at home. The Aces’ lead was cut to 53-50 after the third period, and the teams were tied at 69-all at the end of regulation.

Brian Griffith led Catholic with 17 points and Ji Webb had 16. Gray Weaver (13), Drew Hartz (11), Andrew Riney (8) and Sam McFarland (8) also scored.


PANTHERS FALL SHORT AT HOME
Daviess County (7-20) kept things tight most of the way, but Grayson County pulled away late for a 57-46 win at DC. The Panthers were only down three at halftime and trailed 37-31 at halftime.

Camron Johnson led DC’s effort with 11 points and Logan Hillard scored nine. Other scoring came from Ryan Thomson (7), Cole Burch (6), Koki Kato (4), Will Barron (3), Bo Strattton (2), Jalen Lawrence (2) and Joe Humphreys (2).


RAIDERS STRUGGLE IN HOME LOSS
Trinity (9-20) got behind early and was never able to slow down Webster County in a 71- 38 loss at home. The Raiders trailed by nine after the first quarter and faced a 34-18 deficit at the half.

Kevin Foster had a team-high nine points with three 3-pointers. Also scoring were Landon Hall (8), Bailey Wright (5), Gavin Howard (4), Ethan Howard (4), Denver Dickens (3), Landon Smith (2), Will Edge (2) and Landon Huff (1).
