FRIDAY’S ACTION:
• Howard’s 24 leads Raiders past Grayson County
• Eagles fall short against Mustangs
• Morris, Aull score 57 in Lady Raiders’ loss

HOWARD’S 24 LEADS RAIDERS PAST GRAYSON COUNTY
Ethan Howard scored 24 points and Trinity (7-17) used a hot start to snap a nine-game losing with a 58-48 win at Grayson County. The Raiders jumped out to a 19-8 lead after the first quarter, and the teams largely matched each other the rest of the way.

Howard scored 11 of Trinity’s 13 points in the second period, then accounted for eight of the team’s 10 in the third. Landon Hall scored 11 of his 14 points in the first quarter. Denver Dickens helped close out the win, scoring all of his points by going 7-for-10 at the free throw line in the fourth.

Also scoring for the Raiders were Brenden Wathen (5), Landon Huff (5) and Elijah Boarman (3).

EAGLES FALL SHORT AGAINST MUSTANGS
Apollo (3-18) came up just short once again, falling 73-66 to Muhlenberg County at home in their fifth straight loss — including four in a row by less than eight points.

Malik Wilson scored a team-high 21 points, while Ryan Ash added 19 points and seven rebounds. Also scoring were Cameron Frantz (12), Harrison Bowman (8), Dan St. Claire (4) and Jamen Kinison (2). St. Claire had eight rebounds and Bowman had six.

MORRIS, AULL SCORE 57 IN LADY RAIDERS’ LOSS
Trinity (8-13) matched their season-high points total — using 34 points from Cassidy Morris and 23 from Josie Aull — but it still wasn’t enough to keep up in an 81-65 loss at Grayson County.

The teams were knotted at 34-all at halftime, but the Lady Cougars took a 58-53 advantage into the fourth quarter and continued to pull away from there.

Morris finished 15-for-20 from the free throw line, going 10-for-13 in the first half. Aull went 5-for-6 at the line and knocked down four 3s. Katherine Hibbitt added six points and Morgan Kinsey scored two.
