Trinity’s season came to an end Monday night, as the Lady Raiders lost 38-27 to Edmonson County in the semifinals of the 12th District girls’ basketball tournament at Grayson County.
It was a slow night for both offenses, and Trinity (13-17) fell behind 7-3 after the first quarter.
The Lady Raiders had their most success in the second quarter, getting five points each from Cassidy Morris and Josie Aull plus three from Katherine Hibbitt. Edmonson County matched Trinity’s scoring in the period, taking a 20-16 lead into halftime.
Neither team reached double-digit scoring in the third or fourth quarters, and they combined to hit just 10 field goals in the second half. Edmonson County extended their lead to 29-20 heading into the final frame and were able to maintain their distance.
Morris finished with 13 points, Hibbitt added nine, and Aull scored five to account for all of Trinity’s scoring.
