Cassidy Morris scored 28 points and Trinity used a strong finish to upend Hancock County 57-47 on the road Thursday night. The win snaps a five-game skid for the Lady Raiders (9-14) and avenges a 10-point loss to the Lady Hornets (12-14) from earlier this season.
Morris scored 10 of the team’s 12 first-quarter points, but Trinity still trailed by one after the opening frame. The Lady Raiders then got seven points in the second quarter from Morgan Kinsey, and Morris added six more of her own to put Trinity up 25-20 at the half.
Still up by five heading into the fourth period, the Lady Raiders went 10-for-11 at the free throw line down the stretch and Morris scored 10 more points to help secure the win.
Josie Aull went 6-for-6 at the line — all in the fourth quarter — and hit Trinity’s only 3-pointer to finish with nine points. Kinsey finished with 13 points, while Hadley Hatfield (6) and Katherine Hibbitt (1) rounded out the scoring for the Lady Raiders.
