Six local student-athletes are staying home and one is returning to continue their football careers, as they joined 25 other players who signed with Kentucky Wesleyan College on Wednesday. The 32 future Panthers marks the most signees on National Signing Day in program history.

Three seniors from Owensboro plus one former Red Devils will be joining the KWC roster next year. Jordan Sorrells (LB), Tyren Hayden (WR) and Imonte Owsley (WR) all graduate from OHS this year. KiShawn Walker graduated in 2015 and is transferring to KWC from Western Kentucky University.

Apollo’s Geoffrey Johnson (DB) and Brandon Husk (WR), as well as Daviess County’s Shane Riley (RB), round out the local talent signing with Wesleyan.

This entire signing class consists of 24 student-athletes from Kentucky. Other states with signees include Illinois (3), Georgia (2), Tennessee (2) and Indiana (1).
