The bowling season came to an end for Daviess County’s unified team of Daniel Morris and Briar Harper, as well as Owensboro’s Savanah Yarber, in Thursday’s KHSAA State Championships in Louisville.

Harper and Morris, competing together in the unified event for the second consecutive year, earned the No. 3 seed in the qualifying round with a 147. After edging No. 14 seed Bullitt East 134-125 in the opening round of bracket play, Harper and Morris fell 168-129 in the quarterfinals to No. 6 seed and eventual runner-up Barren County.

Harper and the rest of the Daviess County team will wrap up their season Friday in the boys’ tournament, which begins at 1 p.m.

Yarber, competing in the girls’ singles tournament after claiming fourth at region, was unable to make the cut after three qualifying games. She bowled 134-130-132 for a 396 total in her first ever trip to state.
