The Daviess County High School boys’ basketball team is hosting a free virtual camp today through Thursday. The camp is for boys and girls and is made for beginners up to advanced middle school players.

DCHS boys’ head coach Neil Hayden said current and former Panthers coaches and players filmed drills from their homes, and some friends of the program are providing motivational talks and drills as well.

“Summer basketball camp is where I feel in love with the game as a kid and now it’s one of my favorite part of my job as a coach,” Hayden said. “I also want to be able to provide something to our community while we must social distance. I want our community to know we (DCHS) are still thinking about our future athletes and I wanted to provide some assistance.”

The camp will be posted on the DCHS boys’ basketball Facebook and Twitter accounts.

“Players can still work on their game even while at home and be ready once we have the opportunity to practice and play games again,” Hayden said. “I believe we as a community can adjust to any circumstances we face and this is an adjustment we are needed to make at this time.”
