Owensboro Catholic’s Jakob Wellman led locals and helped the Aces to a fourth-place finish Saturday at the Hopkins County Central Invitational at Madisonville Country Club.
Wellman fired a 70 and finished fourth after falling to Madisonville-North Hopkins’ Jackson Hill in a scorecard playoff.
Catholic finished with a 312 as Marshall County won the event with a 297. Daviess County finished sixth with a 319 while Owensboro took 16th with a 375.
Grant Broughton (78), Nick Johnson (80), Braden Whistle (80) and Dawson Lamb (81) all turned in solid rounds for the Panthers.
For the Aces, Reece Higdon also shot under 80 with his 76 as Griffin Payne (81) and JT Payne (85) rounded out the scoring for Catholic.
Owensboro carded a 375 with Will Hume (88), Will Rickard (89), James Rhineburger (90) and Noah Newton (108) hit the course for the Red Devils.
