After nearly four hours of discussion Friday, the Kentucky Board of Education voted unanimously (10-0) to start communication by sending a letter to the KHSAA Board of Control “urging additional consideration of alternative options for high contact call sports.”

The KBOE decision to start communication with the KHSAA is another stop that’s been a busy road as of late for student-athletes’ hope of a fall season.

As of now, the season will continue as scheduled with teams around the state hitting the field, court, course and track until competition for soccer, volleyball and cross country begins Sept. 7 with football slated to start its season Sept. 11.
