After a record-breaking 134 G-MAC All-Academic selections, the Kentucky Wesleyan College Athletic Department has set another institutional record with 60 students receiving the Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Award for the 2019-20 academic year.
The National Association announced the award winners on Thursday afternoon. In its 13thyear, there were 15,125 student-athletes from 200 institutions recognized, shattering records for the highest number of participating institutions and the largest numbers of student-athletes being nominated since the award’s inception. For the second-straight year, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) had the largest number of honorees at 1,365. Independently, the PSAC’s Gannon University led the way with 219 honorees.
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference tabbed 527 honorees with six institutions being recognized. Tiffin University paced the conference with 157 selections. The Panthers broke their own previous record of 48 honorees during the 2017-18 academic year with 60 honorees this past year.
