Brescia’s Morejon named RSC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Brescia midfielder Javier Morejon scored five points in three games to claim River States Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 14-20. The award was for his performance so far this season.

Morejon, a freshman from Havanna, Cuba, had two goals, one assist and five points in the three games for the Bearcats. He scored points in every game, including a goal in a 2-0 win at Taylor (Ind.). His goal gave Brescia a 1-0 lead in an eventual 2-1 loss to St. Francis (Ind.). Morejon also had an assist in a loss to Williams Baptist. 

Brescia’s Cory claims RSC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Brescia defender Christopher Cory was named River States Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 14-20. The award was for his performance in all games so far this season. 

The center back from Daphne, Ala., helped the Bearcats to a 2-2 record in their first four games. Cory, a sophomore, scored two goals in the four games, one of which was in a 5-2 victory over Carlow (Pa.) in the RSC opener for both teams. 

Cory was also a big part of a 2-0 shutout win at Taylor (Ind.). He scored the opening goal in an eventual 4-2 loss to Williams Baptist.
