Boys’ golfers from the four local schools met Monday at Ben Hawes for the annual Ryder Cup among the squads.
Daviess County and Owensboro paired up to take on Owensboro Catholic and Apollo in a 9-hole scramble for the first day.
After one round, the duo of AHS/OCHS led 4-3.
They grabbed full points from Jakob Wellman (OC)/Reece Higdson(OC), Barrett Martin (OC)/Ethan Dych (AHS) and Eli Thompson (OC)/Trevor Cecil (AHS).
Griffin Payne (OC)/JT Payne (OC) and Sam Mitchell (OC)/Tanner Klee(AHS) earned half points.
For DC/OHS, Gabe Vincent (DC)/James Rhineburger (OHS) and Hunter Smith (DC)/Noah Newton (OHS) each won full points while Braden Whistle (DC)/Dawson Lamb (DC) and Jayden Lanham (DC)/Will Hume (OHS) earched half points.
The final round is today at Ben Hawes.
