BOYS SOCCER
South Warren 7, Apollo 1

Apollo hit the road to Bowling Green but couldn’t keep up with the South Warren Spartans.

The Eagles scored the first goal of the match but that was all the offense they’d find as the Spartans won 7-1.

Teranse Twihenya scored the lone Apollo goal on an assist from Harrison Bowman.

The Eagles hit the pitch Saturday at home against North Hardin.

Daviess County 7, Greenwood 1

The Daviess County Panthers are in the middle of a three-game road trip and on Thursday against Greenwood, DC made it two victories in a row.

The Panthers took down the Gators 7-1 behind a huge second half.

Hunter Clark and Tanner Anderson led the way with two goals each while Declan Armistead, Hayden Glover and Andrew Alexander also finished with goals. Sean Higgs added two assists.

Owensboro takes on Owensboro Catholic at OCHS Saturday after for a 9th District matchup.

Owensboro 3, Ohio County 2

The Owensboro Red Devils picked up their first win of the year Thursday as they took down Ohio County 3-2 at home.

Hser Thaw scored all three goals for the Red Devils.

Owensboro takes on district foe Apollo on Wednesday.

Owensboro Catholic 9, Webster County 1

The Owensboro Catholic Aces won their fifth-straight game Thursday as they took down Webster County in Dixon.

OC didn’t have any issue finding the back of the net as they won the match 9-1.

Brody Martin continued his stellar play as he netted four goals for the Aces. Luke Hagedorn also finished with a hat trick while Joe Fusco and Austin Martin each added one goal. Austin Martin also finished with an assist.

Caleb Ranallo had five saves in goal.

OC takes on Owensboro Saturday afternoon at home.

GIRLS SOCCER
Apollo 3, McLean County 1

The Apollo E-gals snapped a three-game losing streak Thursday when they took down McLean County.

Apollo was able to find the back of the net multiple times for the first time since they netted 12 goals on Sept. 10, as the E-gals tamed the Lady Cougars 3-1.

Caitlyn Blandford had a hat trick for the E-gals as Alana Rone and Bway Paw added assists. JoHannah Hutchinson had three saves in goal.

The E-gals play Thursday at home against Muhlenberg County.

Daviess County 1, Madisonville-North Hopkins 0

The Daviess County Lady Panthers got revenge on Madisonville-North Hopkins on Thursday after their loss to the Lady Maroons on Tuesday at MNHHS.

DC only scored one goal but it was all it needed as the Lady Panther defense held firm in the 1-0 victory.

Steeley Walker scored the lone goal of the game on a penalty as the Lady Panthers finished with 10 shots and eight corner kicks in the contest. Emma Patterson had seven saves for the shutout.

Daviess County plays Saturday at home against Calloway County.

Ohio County 3, Owensboro Catholic 0

The Owensboro Lady Aces had their three-match winning streak snapped Thursday when they hit the road to Ohio County.

The Lady Eagles shut down the high-powered offense of the Aces 3-0 in their victory.

OC continues its tough stretch Saturday as it heads to Marshall County.
