Apollo splits Saturday matches with Bowling Green, Henderson County
The Apollo E-gals hit the court twice Saturday as they fell to Bowling Green in the morning but rebounded with a victory over Henderson County.
Apollo fell to the Purples 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-17) but took down the Lady Colonels 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15).
Several E-gals had solid performances on the day.
Havanah John (22 kills), Aliyah Carwile (18 kills, 4 aces), Brylee Rhodes (8 kills, 4 aces), Tallie Satterfield (9 kills), Maddi Boswell (60 assists), Anslee Hopewell (25 digs), Abby Spong (15 digs) and Camryn Kerwick (12 digs, 5 aces) all contributed for Apollo.
Apollo hits the court Tuesday as they host 9th District foe Daviess County.
Owensboro downs Henderson, starts season 3-0
For the first time since 2013, the Owensboro Lady Devils have started the season with three straight victories after taking down Henderson County on Saturday morning.
The Lady Devils beat the Colonels 3-1 for the victory as they end the first week of the season unblemished.
OHS plays Tuesday against Owensboro Catholic in a 9th District tilt.
