Owensboro moves to 5-0 with win over McLean County

The Owensboro Lady Devils improved to 5-0 for the first time since 2013 after they took down McLean County Thursday. 

OHS cruised to the 3-0 (25-8, 25-14, 25-17) victory over the Lady Cougars.

Lainey Hayden led the way with 10 kills while Krystell Pappas chipped in 12 assists. 

The Lady Devils are off until Monday when they host Grayson County. 

Daviess County downs Hancock County in 4 sets

The Daviess County Lady Panthers hit the road Thursday as they took down Hancock County in four sets. 

DC picked up its second win of the season with the 3-1 (25-19, 25-17, 24-26, 25-20) victory. 

Elizabeth Moore led the way with 25 kills and 7 digs while Ryann Keller added 27 assists. Lexi Owen also finished with double digit assists as she chipped in 17. 

The Lady Panthers play Saturday at home as they host Henderson County. 

Lady Aces grab first win of the season over Breckinridge

The Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces had a late start to the season and after two losses to start 2020, they were able to take down Breckinridge County Thursday night at OCHS. 

OCHS won the match 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-17) after dropping the first set to the Lady Tigers. 

The Lady Aces had four players with at least five kills while Paige Miles, Kennedy Murphy and Lilly Farmer each finished with 10 assists. Leann Lyon added 25 digs while Emily Christian chipped in 19. 

Apollo beats Meade in 5 sets

The Apollo E-gals grabbed their second win in three days as they took down Meade County at home. 

AHS took down the Lady Waves 3-2 (25-13, 19-15, 25-17, 23-25, 15-12) in the five-set thriller. 

Havanah John had 11 kills to be the only E-gal to finish with double-digit kills. Maddie Boswell added 30 assists while Anslee Hopewell had 15 digs.

The E-gals play at 7 p.m. tonight at Henderson County. 

Lady Raiders snap skid with win over Butler County

After winning the 3rd Region All “A” Classic Tournament on Saturday, the Trinity Lady Raiders dropped their next two matches before getting back to their winning ways on Thursday. 

Trinity beat the Lady Bears 3-1 (25-7, 20-25, 25-22, 25-17) for its fifth win of the year as it also improves to 2-0 in district play.

Hannah Nash led the way with 15 kills while Josie Aull added 28 assists and five digs. Abby Payne (15 digs), Bailey Millway (11 digs), Georgia Howard (13 digs) and Taylor Pedley (14 digs) also had big defensive games for Trinity.

The Lady Raiders play again Monday at Muhlenberg County.
