Apollo 3, Warren East 2

The Apollo E-gals continued their winning streak Thursday as it hit five games after a victory over Warren East.

Apollo won the match 3-2 (25-16, 26-28, 23-25, 26-24, 15-12) after going down 2-1 as they had to rally in the final two sets for the victory.

Havanah John led the way with 22 kills and three blocks while Brylee Rhodes added eight kills and three blocks. Tallie Satterfield also had a big offensive night with six kills while she also had three blocks.

Anslee Hopewell (25) and Courtney Hagan (10) each finished with double-digit digs while Maddi Boswell dished out 41 assists. Hopewell and Rhodes also finished with four aces apiece.

AHS plays Saturday afternoon at home against Ohio County and Graves County.

Daviess County 3, Franklin-Simpson 0

The Daviess County Lady Panthers won their fourth-straight match Thursday to move to 5-1 on the season.

DC took down Franklin-Simpson 3-0 (25-7, 25-13, 27-25) for its second sweep in a row.

Elizabeth Moore led the way with 15 kills while Josie Newcom added eight kills. Ryann Keller had 16 assists and Lexi Owen added 15.

Kendal Goetz (9 digs), Kloee Phelps (8 digs) and Owen (8 digs) all had solid defensive nights for DC.

DC has back-to-back 9th District matches next week as it takes on Owensboro on Monday and Owensboro Catholic on Tuesday.

Ohio County 3, Owensboro 2

After going 5-0 to start the season, the Owensboro Lady Devils have dropped three straight matches as they fell to Ohio County Thursday at OHS.

The Lady Devils had a 2-1 lead in the match but fell 3-2 (12-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-22, 15-13) as multiple sets went down to the wire.

Brooklyn Williams finished with 12 kills while Hannah Ashley and Mia Covington each added seven. Krystell Pappas led OHS in aces (5) and assists (24) and was third in digs with 14. Jersie Rhineburger (16) and Lainey Hayden (15) led the team in digs.

Owensboro hits the road Saturday as it takes on Henderson County.

Trinity 3, Butler County 2

The Trinity Lady Raiders went into Thursday’s match with back-to-back losses but they were able to bounce back with a victory over Butler County on the road.

THS won the match 3-2 (21-25, 25-21, 25-17, 23-25, 25-7).

Georgie Howard (10 kills, 6 aces, 12 digs), Jenna McDowell (10 kills, 2 blocks) and Hannah nash (10 Kills, 6 digs) led the Lady Raiders in kills as they each complete games in the victory.

Abby Payne (28 digs), Bailey Millay (3 aces, 9 digs), Josie Aull (ace, 2 kills, 30 assists, 5 digs), Taylor Pedley (3 assists, 29 digs), Kenzie McDowell (2 kills, assist) and Corli Mills (ace, 4 kills, 2 digs) all contributed in the victory.

Trinity hits the court Saturday at McLean County.
