The Owensboro Times sports honors this week go to Daviess County’s Luke Floyd and Josie Newcom.
Floyd, a freshman wide receiver for the Panthers, is the Football Player of the Week after receiving the most votes in the weekly poll. Floyd had six catches for 75 yards and a touchdown in DC’s loss to McCracken County.
Newcom, a sophomore volleyball player for the Lady Panthers, is the Athlete of the Week after receiving the most votes in the weekly poll. Newcom had 35 kills, 30 digs and seven blocks in three matches for DC.
Next week’s Football and Athlete of the Week polls will open Monday morning and run through Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Note: Winners of the weekly honors will not be eligible for nomination again.
