The Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces couldn’t extend their season Monday as they fell to host Grayson County in the first round of the 3rd Region Volleyball Tournament.

The Lady Cougars took down Catholic 3-1 (25-22, 25-22, 16-25, 25-16).

The Lady Aces fell behind as the first two sets were closely contested but won by Grayson. Despite falling down 2-0, Catholic rallied and controlled the third set to force a fourth in Leitchfield.

But the Lady Cougars had too much firepower in their own gym as they won the fourth set and ended the Lady Aces’ season.

Cate Sights led the way with 15 kills while senior Madeline Castlen added 12 kills in her final match as a Lady Ace. Castlen also added six blocks and five digs.

Jenna Glenn led the way with 28 digs while Kennedy Murphy had 23 assists.

Glenn also earned All-3rd Region Tournament Team honors.

Catholic finished the year at 7-11 as they graduate several seniors but return Sights as the junior finished second on the team in kills.
