Five local golfers will represent the area at the KHSAA State Golf Championships next week at Bowling Green Country Club as the boy’s are up first on Tuesday.
Owensboro Catholic’s Jakob Wellman is the lone local boys’ competitor in Bowling Green as he’ll tee off at 12:30 p.m. from the No. 10 tee.
Wellman will play with fellow 2nd Region golfer Nolan Nofsinger, along with Barren County’s Jameson Corbin and Bethlehem’s Xander Tucker.
Four local girls’ golfers will hit the course Thursday for their first round.
2nd Region champion Macey Brown tees off at 8:45 a.m. with Lyon County’s Cathryn Brown, Bryan Station’s Morgan Shown and Glasgow’s Nina McMurtrey.
Daviess County’s Holly Holton will be the next to tee off at 12:45 p.m. on the No. 10 tee as she’s playing Notre Dame’s Hannah Rice, St. Henry’s Sarah Steimer and Owen County’s Mallory Hardesty.
Apollo’s Mary Ann Lyons hits the links at 1 p.m. from the 10th with Ryle’s Hannah Dargie, Jackson County’s Madeline Vickers and Notre Dame’s Natalie Lovell.
Owensboro’s Alexa Salamah is the last local to tee off Thursday she they’ll send her off of the 10th tee at 1:30 p.m. Salamah is playing with Owen County’s Heidi Stedam, Hazard’s Cailin Lindson and Barren County’s Taylor Gaunce.
