Apollo 3, Trinity 1

The Apollo E-gals took down their second City-County foe this week as they took down Trinity in Whitesville.

Apollo cruised 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 25-15) to win its 15th match of the year.

For the Lady Raiders, the loss wraps up their regular season as THS heads into 12th District play with a record of 9-9.

Maddi Boswell led the E-gals with 13 kills while Havanah John (10 kills), Brylee Rhodes (5 kills), Tallie Satterfield (8 kills, 3 blocks, 3 aces), Aliyah Carwile (4 blocks, 4 kills), Allie Hargitt (32 assists), Anslee Hopewell (26 digs), Courtney Hagan (15 digs), Camryn Kerwick (16 digs) and Abby Spong (11 digs) all had solid games for Apollo.

Hannah Nash was the only Lady Raider with double-digit kills as she led the team with 11. Josie Aull added 19 assists and 12 digs while Taylor Pedley (30 digs), Georgia Goward (17 digs) and Abigail Payne (13 digs) led THS on defense.

THS now looks to next week’s 12th District Tournament as Apollo closes out its regular season Saturday at home against Paducah Tilghman at 10 a.m.

Daviess County 3, Grayson County 0

The Daviess County Lady Panthers ended their regular season with a victory to finish 9-3 heading into next week’s district tournament.

Daviess swept Grayson County 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-21).

Elizabeth Moore had a big day to lead the Panthers as she had 20 kills, 11 digs and 4 aces. Josie Newcom also finished with double-digit kills as she added 13 and 11 digs to go with 4 aces. Ryann Keller (22 assists) and Lexi Owen (18 assists) had big nights passing the ball as Kloee Phelps added 14 digs.

DC plays Owensboro in the first round of the 9th District Tournament on Tuesday.

Bowling Green 3, Owensboro Catholic 0

The Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces snapped their losing streak Wednesday against Trinity but they couldn’t make it back-to-back wins as they fell to Bowling Green on Thursday.

The Lady Purples swept Catholic 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-8).

The Aces end the regular season at 11 a.m. Saturday as they head to Henderson County.
