Apollo sweeps University Heights Academy
After going 2-2 last weekend at the Quad State Tournament, the Apollo E-gals turned in a dominating performance as they took care of business quickly against University Heights Academy.
The E-gals cruised 3-0 (25-22, 25-9, 25-21) to win their 11th game of the year.
Anslee Hopewell led Apollo with 13 digs and five aces as several E-gals had solid games in the victory. Aliyah Carwile (9 kills, 2 aces), Maddi Boswell (6 kills, 9 assists), Brylee Rhodes (6 kills, 2 blocks), Tallie Satterfield (3 kills), Allie Hargitt (17 assists) and Appy Spong (7 digs) all contributed in AHS’s win.
Apollo starts a five-game road trip today at Hopkinsville.
Lady Devils fall at Grayson County
The Owensboro Lady Devils hit the road Monday for matchup with Grayson County but it was the Lady Cougars that came away with the win.
Grayson won the match 3-1 (25-14, 25-27, 25-10, 25-21).
Owensboro continues its road trip today as they head to Madisonville-North Hopkins to take on the Lady Maroons.
