Three games have been canceled tonight due to positive Covid-19 tests, including Owensboro’s matchup with Fairdale but one area team will take the field as Owensboro Catholic hits the road to take on the Murray Tigers.
Catholic and Murray have played each other nine of the last 10 years in the playoffs with last season being the lone outlier. For the Aces, a victory would mean rare back-to-back road playoff victories.
Owensboro Catholic at Murray
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Ty Holland Stadium, Murray
Owensboro Catholic and Murray will hit the field at 7 p.m. at Ty Holland Stadium with the victor earning a spot in next week’s Class 2A semifinals.
Murray (7-3) has won three-straight games since it fell to Mayfield 21-20 on Oct. 23 but the Tigers got their revenge with a 28-21 triple-overtime victory over the Cardinals last week at historic War Memorial Stadium.
Rowdy Sokolowski starts at quarterback for the Tigers and has 1,015 yards this season with 11 touchdowns and 10 picks but Sokolowski has also helped MHS with his legs with 636 yards and 10 scores on the ground.

Andrew Orr leads Murray in tackles with 81 while Sebastian Lawrence has racked up 20 tackles for loss this season. The Tigers have 21 (13 interceptions, 8 fumbles) this season with Miles (4 interceptions) and McCallister (3 interceptions) leading the way.
In two games at quarterback, Ace junior Braden Mundy has 217 yards with 3 touchdowns and an interception but like his counterpart, Mundy has helped Catholic on the ground this season.
Mundy (727 yards, 9 touchdowns) and Hunter Monroe (734 yards, 9 touchdowns) have led a big rushing attack for the Aces this season. Chris Boarman has add 253 yards and 7 scores while Lincoln Clandy has chipped in 365 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Mundy is the top receiver for the Aces this season but Reid Clark (120 yards, 2 touchdowns) and Max Byrne (126 yards, 2 touchdowns) have the lone receiving scores in the playoffs for Catholic.
